Far Too Often We Forget the Human Element of Healthcare

I recently wrote a post on EMR and HIPAA that talked about the social and behavioral factors that influence someone’s health and wellness. When you look at all those factors you realize that really improving someone’s health is a complex problem. However, when you get it right, it has such far reaching consequences.

I was reminded of this when I saw this great video from GetWellNetwork. I’m told they showed this at their user conference before their CEO started his keynote. Take a few minutes to watch this video:

It’s great to see a company that focuses so much on the patient. I love patient stories like this. It reframes and reminds me of the important work we’re doing in healthcare.
