I almost forgot to post today. What can I say? I’ve had a crazy busy today. Lots of interest in advertising on EMR and HIPAA lately. So, we’ll keep it short and sweet. Here’s a poll that I posted on EMR and EHR also and originally took from HIStalk Practice about the resources people plan to use to achieve meaningful use. The early voting seems to indicate that EMR vendors better be prepared to help. We’ll see after EMR and HIPAA readers vote how that changes:

John… Not surprising. That’s how it should be. Absent ARRA incentive program … the vendor would be working with the provider so the provider gets the most benefit possible from the implementation. Makes perfect sense.
What ONC ought to be concerned about is that despite pushing the RECs as the source of assistance and targeting 100,000 EPs … its only pulling in 13% of the responses … beating consultants by only 4% (one vote at this point).
I don’t see the GOP will have to do much to cause ARRA incentive program to fail. It’s failing on its own ‘merits’.
Clearly practices who have responded so far believe the vendor is better able to meet the fuller needs of the practice’s business and clinical initiative.
Everything is right again with the world.
