MedHOK Appoints David Butterworth as Senior Vice President of Business Development

Butterworth is responsible for ensuring MedHOK realizes its full potential through the establishment of strategic channel relationships and identifying, marketing and capitalizing new business opportunities. This includes planning and deployment of intense market interaction strategies to communicate the value MedHOK’s unique integrated care management, quality and compliance platform delivers to accountable care organizations (ACOs), patient-centered medical homes (PCMHs) and other provider organizations, as well as health plans, pharmacy benefit managers (PBM) and Specialty Rx.

TAMPA, Fla. – Feb. 13, 2012MedHOK, one of the healthcare industry’s fastest-growing companies providing cloud-based software, announced today the appointment of David Butterworth, CPA, as senior vice president of business development. Previously, Butterworth was an independent management consultant to Fortune 500 health insurance firms, advising on strategic marketing plans, tactical execution, business development, compliance and analytics. He also served as vice president of Emedon Inc., where he developed and led a $400 million enterprise marketing and product strategy. Butterworth has also held various positions at Aetna, including director of innovation and business development and HMO financial administrator, and with UnitedHealth Group, including director of Uniprise and Exante Bank, director of research and development, and director of the program management office.

Butterworth received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Accounting/Finance from the University of Hartford. He also holds a Master’s Certification in Program Management from George Washington University. Butterworth is a licensed CPA in Virginia and a nationally certified Health Insurance Associate.
