HealthcareIT (Medical) Job Websites

Written by:

I’ve talked about a number of EHR and EMR job websites in the past. I guess I’m so interested in the subject, because I’m doing my own search for a new job (possibly an EMR/EHR job).

During my search for the right Healthcare IT job (hopefully doing something with a great EMR or EHR implementation, I’ve found a number of other jobs related to EHR and EMR. Here’s the list of healthcare IT related job sites to add to my previous list (linked above):

Healthcare IT News Job Listing – A website listing a number of Healthcare IT jobs and many EMR jobs available. The site is run by Healthcare IT news.

HIMSS JobMine – Job list sponsored by HIMSS with a bunch of HIT categories of jobs.

med IT jobs – The best set of search features of the ones listed. Categorized by job, company, etc.

Check out the entire list of EMR, EHR and HealthcareIT job sites on the EMR/EHR and HIPAA wiki.

If people know of other EMR and HealthcareIT job sites out there, please let me know and I’ll add them to this post.

      Bob,
Thanks for pointing that one out. I’d seen it before, but forgot about it.

I’ve found some candidates by posting our open positions on emrjobs.net. I also post on medreps.com for our open sales positions.

    4. # Andrea Schroeder commented on January 12th, 2009:

Also there are usually posts on histalk.com relating to open positions!

      Nice Wiki.
Hard to maintain a great wiki by yourself.
Although I like your determination !
I’ll keep you abreast of some upcoming projects of mine. I am a wiki fan too.

Thanks Andrea. I’ll add histalk to the wiki list. I’ve seen jobs listed there before also. medreps is an interesting site. Not sure how targeted, but you’re right about EMR sales jobs.

      DrMurdoch,
Glad you like it. It’s definitely just a start. I hope that I’m not the only one to participate in creating the wiki. Although, I hope to lead with tons of content creation. It’s open for editing by the public, but you do have to create an account to add content. I’ll be heavily moderating it to ensure not too many sales pitches occur. I’d love to have your contributions.

I’m interested to hear and see your upcoming projects. Drop me a line when you have it up.

Nice looking site Bob. The only problem I have is that you HAVE to register in order to see the exact jobs. It would be nice to see the jobs before I register. I’ll add it to my list of EMR, EHR and Healthcare IT jobs wiki.

      Andrea,
Glad to hear you have had success finding qualified candidates on EMRjobs.com. We’ve recently made many changes to the site, including an updated look and enhanced functionality.

      Any feedback is welcome.

    12. # EMR and HIPAA commented on January 26th, 2009:

      Erik,
I noticed the redesign and it’s 100 times better than your previous design. You’ve brought it into this century and it looks great. Let’s hope that you continue to get tons of EMR related jobs posted to your site despite the current economic turbulence.

    13. # Erik commented on January 26th, 2009:

I appreciate the feedback. When we bought the comapany, priority number 1 was redesign. We will continue to enhance the website to make it as user-friendly as possible.

    14. # HealthcareITReps.com commented on January 29th, 2009:

Ok, EMR and HIPPS, I will change my site so you don’t have to register to view jobs.

Will notify you of change so you can update – any more suggestions?

    15. # HealthcareITReps.com commented on January 29th, 2009:

      Done.

    16. # EMR and HIPAA commented on January 29th, 2009:

Thanks for making the change. It’s nice to be able to see the job listing so that you know if it’s worth spending the time to register for the site.

I like the look of the site a lot. Very web 2.0 with the rounded edges and color styles. I wonder if you shouldn’t include a list of major companies that have HIT jobs. Also, a list of the types of jobs that fit into Health Care IT. In fact, I think you should consider creating a blog for the site highlighting the various jobs. This would be good education for your readers and would also help you get more traffic to your site from search engines.

I love the agents so that people stay engaged and have a way to be updated when jobs are posted. The RSS feed is a nice and important touch. Hopefully IT people know and use RSS.

I think you should add a travel field for each job. The amount of travel is a major factor in most people’s decision making. This would be good on the advanced search filter too.

I’m not sure why you are collecting a physical address at sign up and more importantly why it’s a required field. The number of fields required to register has been shown to really deter people from registering. Cut it down to the bare minimum and ask those things later. Just get them in the door and setup with an agent or upload a resume as quick as possible.

I like what you have going on. One last suggestion that I’m sure you know about: Get more jobs listed;-)

      I hope these suggestions help.
